Pear tree.

I was just remembering this game, which I really enjoyed and I know others here did too... I'd love to continue with it, but I honestly can't think of any Enid Blyton story that involves a pear tree! (I don't know if any of Enid's Christmas stories include the partridge in a pear tree — or else the only other association that springs to mind is how Benjamin Bunny climbed down into Mr McGregor's garden, but that's the wrong author... )

Can anyone else think of a Blytonian association for "pear tree" — or else maybe we could continue the game with a new word?

Pear trees were used more than once to allow adventurous children to climb out of bedroom windows or to access places such as garage roofs! I think that occured in "The Boy Next Door".

Medicine

Medicine: The herbal medicine for which Jimmy and Mrs Galliano collect the ingredients in Mr Galliano's Circus, in order to treat Punch the dog when he falls seriously ill.

Train:

Train:The spook train which ran at night in "Five go off to Camp".


Suitcase:

This seems to have fallen by the wayside - any takers?

I'd love to, if only I could think of a Blytonesque scene involving a suitcase!

Well, since it's definitely over a week since you posted "suitcase" originally and no-one else has answered it, I'd say there's no problem with you going ahead, Daisy. I enjoy this game and would love to see it continue.

Suitcase: The case that was blown out of the tree in "Valley of Adventure" saving Jack from being caught by one of the treasure robbers.

Lake:

Lake: According to "Five Get Into Trouble" (the book)... along their bicycling trip, our "gang of five" camped near its shore for the night, and in the morning Julian and Dick went off for a swim in it while Anne prepared breakfast and George slept in!

Called the "Green Pool", but only in the book, as neither the 1978 nor the 1990s TV series actually name it.


Towers:

Towers: Kirrin Castle has two towers, one almost completely ruined, the other not quite so bad. (I always had trouble imagining a castle with two towers when I was little — to me, a castle obviously should have four towers, one at each corner! But to be fair, I'd only ever seen toy castles in real life...)
