Thanks, Daanton! I like that part too.

Next one:

"It's probably just a steamer sailing past. We'll see in a minute."

Too bad Mr Rogers the gardener wouldn't let Julian (who said the quote) and the others find out.

Here in "Five Run Away Together", he and George had gone to the train station to pick up Julian, Dick and Anne, who had just arrived, and were taking them all up to Kirrin Cottage, when George suddenly saw something coming from "her island" (ie: Kirrin Island) and made Rogers stop onto the side of the road so she could look/see for certain. Some small pillar of smoke coming from the island. Then Julian suggested a passing steamer, and to wait and see, but Rogers said they had to be back in Kirrin Cottage right away.

So this little mystery was left for another day.... like, say, the Five fleeing off to said island in an early morning to get away from the Sticks, who had just arrived to look after the house after Quentin and Fanny go away.

.

What, too much info?

Alright, everyone, try this quote (who said it, what episode, etc):
"Maybe we'd better buy a monkey."

Anyone need a hint?

Here's one:

None of the Five said my quote. It was said by one of two antagonists...... in hushed conversation...... at a corner table inside a village pub on the eve of an approaching thunderstorm.

Well, as no one's able to provide an answer......

It was Jacob Loomer, to his elder[?] brother Ebenezer, in "Five Go To Demon's Rocks":
EBENEZER (near whisper): "[How these many years] we've been scraping and scratching nothing much as a brass button, and then that flaming monkey in just a minute or two gets his [???] up a bit, and there it is, in their hands, a gold coin! :x Oh, it makes you boil!"
JACOB (near whisper): "Maybe we'd better buy a monkey."
EBENEZER (near whisper): "A monkey?! A drink! [passes over his glass] That's what you can buy."
[And a reluctant Jacob gets up and leaves the table, heading off to the bar to buy a brother a refill!
[As his brother continues to brood!
[As the thunder sounds outside the pub.
Well then, I or someone else can provide the next quote to guess, either this weekend or come Monday.

Alright, everyone, try this quote (who said it, what episode, etc):
"The difference is: they don't know about us."

It is 'Trouble' and Ju who says it.
I actually was told later as I was in that attic room... :D

Cheers

Yes, quite right!

And for the rest of you:

You'll recall that Julian, Anne, George, Timmy & Richard Kent finally made it inside the gates of the walled-/fenced-off grounds of Owls Dene and were now secretly crouched on the driveway looking upon the house.

Then the gates finally closed. Locking them inside the grounds. Richard himself says so. [Using Dick's voice, for some reason! Blast those voice overdubs....] :D
[Sure enough, as everyone would see, the gates have closed.
ANNE: “If Dick’s a prisoner here, then so are we.”
:!:
JULIAN: “The difference is: they don’t know about us. And we’ve got to get him out. [C’mon.]”
[Soon, J,A,G, Timmy and Richard quickly head off towards the house.... {CUE PART OF Richard Hill's "FOREBODING"...}
Your turn, mein Freund. 8)

As he wrote a piece called 'Foreboding', I assume Richard Hill is a composer. If you want to know more, Nigel will probably remind you that Google is your friend!

Thanks Anita... that sort of makes sense now.... I somehow assumed it was a reference to Richard Kent!

Daisy....

Richard Hill's "Foreboding", originally from PRISONER:CELL BLOCK H: [link]

Among several others used whole or in part, originally used for P:CBH and THE SWEENEY. I believe this Forum detailed [somewhere] a topic about FF's incidental music.

Now awaiting the next quote......

I believe one of the cars used in the FF was also used in The Sweeney.
