It was indeed. :D

Over to you.

We always get there in the end! :D

For the next quote I am going to lean behind myself and grab a book at random.

Ok first time I got a Noel Streatfeild by accident! Not much use. Here's an actual Blyton one now:

"His laugh is worth ten shillings a week!" said blank. "My, when old blank starts laughing, you've got to hold your sides! He's as merry as a cricket!"
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

This thread seems to have been forgotten.

I think the quote is from Mr Galliano's Circus and the missing names are Lai and Brownie. :D

I'm sure I'm right and so here is a new quotation:

"What's this thing?" Said *** ********, patting the enormous roll of hair that ******* had pinned there in imitation of one of the film-stars.

You were right about Mr Galliano's circus and Brownie but I can't remember the other name!

Yours is from Third Year at Malory Towers. Zerelda is the second blanked out name, and the first is one of the teachers... is it Miss Hibbert?

The teacher is Miss Williams. Otherwise your answer is perfectly correct.

So over to you for the next quotation. :D

Oh dear. And here I am on holiday miles away from my Blyton collection. It's just as well there's a single Blyton paperback in the holiday house! I will find something in it tomorrow and you can guess which book it is.

Thanks, Fiona. :D

Next quotation:

"I'll sign *****'* album. I've got an old sixteenth century proverb I once found in an old document that I'll write in for her - and I'll write it exactly as I saw it, in the old printing."

I think it was Great Uncle Robert talking about signing Diana's autograph book in "The Rilloby Fair Mystery".
