Thanks, Aurélien. :)

Staying with Burnt Cottage, what handy excuse did Daisy and Pip find for going to to speak with Mrs Minns, Mr Hick's cook?

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Oooh yes... that did happen later in the story. I forgot they had two visits to Mrs Minns — I was thinking of the first one, where they found one of Sweetie's kittens stuck up a tree and rescued it. But I'll give it to you, Daisy, as the second time they went to interview her (with Larry as well this time), they took a fish-head to give to Sweetie.

My apologies for accidentally setting an ambiguous question! Over to you, Daisy.

I dithered about it being the return of a cat or the fish answer!

In Strange Messages Mr Smith was an alias. What was his real name?

Thanks Daisy.

What was Mr Canley's (or Smith's) secret? What had he done that required a new identity?

A gentle nudge for Courtenay.
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

Thanks, Eddie. Sorry, everyone — I forgot it was my turn in this one.

Sticking with Secret Room, what kind of soap did Fatty propose they buy as a gift for Mr Goon?
