Thank you, Fiona. :D

A nice easy question in return: how may books are there in the Adventure series and in what years were the first and last published?
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

There are eight books in the series. The first, The Island of Adventure was published in 1944. The last book The River of Adventure was published in 1955.
"Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers".

Thanks, Eddie. :D

In The Island of Adventure Bill Smugs took the children into town in his car. Before meeting him at the hotel they went shopping. What did they buy?

I'm sure they got much more but all I can remember off the top of my head is torches and batteries as well as sunflower seeds for Kiki.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

They also bought film for Jack's camera, sweets, biscuits and a bottle of scent for Aunt Polly. As no-one else is rushing to answer, I'll say:

Over to you, Fiona. :D

I was just going to ask why we don't have an Adventure series quiz but it seems that we do, it's just moribund. Nigel!111111111111111

Aunt Polly?
In came the Taggertys. They were clean, except Biddy knees looked like she had been crawling half a mile in some muddy place.
