When Fatty fell off a haystack
He had bruises all down his back,
They were all shapes and sizes
And could have won prizes,
Like his boasts of which there was no lack.

For sure things were just never quiet,

The school Dame Slap ran was a riot,
For sure things were just never quiet,
There were howls, there were tears,
And many slapped rears,
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

(E. Blyton, Sunday Times, 1951)

For sure things were just never quiet,
There were howls, there were tears,
And many slapped rears,
And the food was the most appalling diet.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Let's start a new one with an easy first line:

There was a young girl called Rose,
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

There was a young girl called Rose,
Who chose many places to pose...
She stood on the sand,
Just waving her hand,
And hung from the cliffs by her toes.
