Bill Smugs - I always loved him and he has a rounded character

Bill Smugs
or
Allie Mannering?
Bill: "I don't know what to say. You're only kids — but you're the finest company of friends anyone could have. You know the meaning of loyalty already, and even if you're scared you don't give up. I'm proud to have you for my friends."

There is no question for me: Bill Smugs!

Bill Smugs

Much as I admire Andy I will plump for sweet natured Lucy-Ann.

Lucy-Ann, seems in a way nicer and with more character than Anne

Lucy-Ann
or
Bets?

Oh... I think I'll stay with Lucy-Ann although I do like Bets - well, most of the time!

Hmm, this is difficult, but I go with my namesake... I like that she is clearly a girl but not afraid.

I thought that might make you think twice! Well another hard choice but I'll go with George.

I'm reading Five Have Plenty of Fun at the moment and I don't have very nice feelings for George right now.

Oh, I think Fatty. He seems more distinctive somehow, and is one of Enid Blyton's most vividly depicted characters.

Gosh, they are both attractive characters in their own way (although some people seem not to like Fatty)
I'll go for Barney, I think.

Barney, definitely. Julian is good but a bit too pompous sometimes.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
