It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Anne entered the mystery room,
Which was filled with mysterious gloom.
She was trying to find,
A book that was signed,
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

Excellent last line, Farwa. :D

Here's a new one:

When Ern walked all the way home,
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

When Ern walked all the way home,
He took out an indigo comb,

When Ern walked all the way home,
He took out an indigo comb,
He slicked back his hair,
With a great deal of flair,
A day spent without a smile is a day lost.

He took out an indigo comb,
He slicked back his hair,
With a great deal of flair,
Glad not to have a big, shiny dome!

Joan's chicken roasted in the pot,
And the buns in her oven were hot,
" A kind heart always brings its own reward," said Mrs. Lee.
