I just assumed that even if books weren't yet in stock, Amazon would still have the Look Inside feature - often they take it from the ebook version. Just found it interesting that Amazon hadn't set up the feature, and wondered if perhaps your publishers had forbidden it.

I'm sure that your book will be in stock soon. I shouldn't think it has anything to do with Amazon, but with your publishers not sending them any stock yet.

I'm afraid I don't know how Amazon works, or who puts in the 'Look Inside Feature'. I just want to write the books, Rob, it's up to the publisher to advertise and sell them for me.

It is marked as "in stock" on Waterstone's website.

I didn't even know the publisher had put me on Good Reads until I got the email link, it's a site I'd never heard of!

I believe either Fiona or Stef introduced me to Goodreads - although I rarely look at it now.

I have heard from Marketing, Rob, and as I suspected, it is not the publisher who hasn't sent out, it is all down to Amazon and their processing dept, the same with the Look Inside Feature.

As you are self publishing with Amazon I guess they want their 'own' to take priority.

That's quite surprising...in a way it doesn't make sense, as Amazon says your book is 'out of stock' even though I ordered it about three days ago! I'm sure if it was in sock they would send a copy, as they would be eager tos ell them...though perhaps not!

I have noticed that Amazon have offered my book for free on kindle devices, as long as people sign up to a special Amazon offer...and also they have cut the price of my book by 40p! So they do seem to do what they like!

I see Amazon have finally got around to putting in the Look Inside Feature! Took them long enough!!!

I've finished reading The Mysterious Boy and found it gentle and poignant, Julie. I always connect emotionally with the characters in your writing - especially Sarah in this book, as we see things through her eyes.

Glad you enjoyed the book, Anita. I don't normally write in the first person, but when I wrote this book I felt it needed it from Sarah's point of view to embrace all the character better.

I really enjoyed your book, Julie, although I felt it could have been longer, as I was enjoying the characters a lot! You're particularly good at creating interesting characters, and very real ones, who leap off the page, and I liked the emotional side of the story, which really makes everything seem much more real. Its always interesting to see a setting in two different eras - something I enjoy writing about myself.

I've written a short review on Amazon and hope you continue to get some sales, as I know how difficult that can be!

Hope this one will be the first of many! Maybe Sarah and Mark have a special connection with ghosts and time travel, as they are twins and perhaps extra sensitive to such things, so might meet some more people from the past in other adventures...They could be 'The Time Travel Twins'!

I kept it quite short and to the point, as I aimed it at children from about 9 years old, and I know from my own grandkids, that they like to get straight into a book, with not too many descriptive words, and not many chapters to read. So I hope I pitched it about right for the young reader to keep them interested enough to finish the book.
