Winsor McCay's "Little Nemo"

Post by Daniel85 »

Anyone here ever read any of Winsor McCay's stuff? I'd imagine that "Little Nemo" offers a lot to fans of Enid Blyton. It's sort of like The Faraway Tree with an edge (and indeed predates Blyton's work).

There's a fairly decent Wikipedia article on Little Nemo here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Nemo

(Winsor McCay is a bit of a hero of mine. He's a pioner of both animation and the comic strip, two art forms I'm very interested in.)

Hi Daniel. I must confess that I had never actually heard of Winsor McCay or Little Nemo. I had a look at the Wikipedia article and it looks good. I'll have to keep an eye out for some to read :D

 Even I had to admit that I really haven't heard of Little Nemo or Windsor McCay. But I will keep my eyes open on them.

At first I thought that you were talking about Disney's Finding Nemo !

I like to think that the naming of the little fish is an homage to Winsor McCay, but it's probably to do with 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. :D
