Very amusing, Pete. I'll have to give this Invisible Dick a go if I ever come across it! :lol: Various elements remind me of Fatty and Goon, Great-uncle Robert, Mr. Pink-Whistle and Dame Slap!

That was my first impression too! It looks as if it might be a fun book. The idea of being invisible has been used more than once of course.... I recall a children's TV series about a boy who could become invisible but no more details, I'm afraid.
