Pseudonymous Bosch - The Secret Series
A series of 5 books written by Lemony Snicket and Anthony Horowitz under the Pseudonym 'Pseudonymous Bosch.'
Exciting, gripping, thrilling, funny (extremely), very well written, and above all, very unique. I just wondered if anyone has every read one of these or even heard of it? I'd really like to know that person's thoughts on it.

Brilliant pseudonym! I haven't come across this series but it sounds intriguing.

I have never heard of it, but I'll be on the lookout for those books, they sound really interesting

Yeah you guys should definitely try. They are absolutely brilliant. Nothing similar to EB but great nonetheless, especially the 1st 3.

Re: Pseudonymous Bosch - The Secret Series
Are you sure about the authors, Sunskriti? According to a Wikipedia article Pseudonymous Bosch is thought to be Raphael Simon, though that has been disputed:Darrell71 wrote:A series of 5 books written by Lemony Snicket and Anthony Horowitz under the Pseudonym 'Pseudonymous Bosch.'

Re: Pseudonymous Bosch - The Secret Series
I have seen Raphael Simon mentioned as the author in several different places, but I have seen no mention of either Anthony Horowitz or Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket). I would be interested where you got this information from Sunskriti, as it does seem that they would be very unlikely people to work together.

Whoever it is, maybe he's the Banksy of children's literature?

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

A quotation from Write Away on a page of the third book:
"Fans of Lemony Snicket will enjoy the dry sense of humour and fans of Anthony Horowitz will love the mystery...exciting, gripping and a fun read."
You're right: they would be unlikely to work together, but they've nailed the mystery + humour part perfectly. (i.e. assuming Write Away is not mistaken)

Re: Pseudonymous Bosch - The Secret Series
I read that differently - fans of the above 2 authors will also like these books which have a similar mixture of mystery etc.. I do not take it to mean that the author(s) of the recommended books are in fact Lemony Snicket and Anthony Horowitz.Darrell71 wrote:A quotation from Write Away on a page of the third book:

For a different pun on the same name, there's a vintage/retro second hand clothing shop in Melbourne called Anonymous Posh.Anita Bensoussane wrote:Brilliant pseudonym!

Re: Pseudonymous Bosch - The Secret Series
That could be a possibility. I read that 5 or 6 years ago and that's how I interpreted it. It's stuck in my mind now. But I don't really care who he is.....he sure writes cool stuff!Daisy wrote:I read that differently - fans of the above 2 authors will also like these books which have a similar mixture of mystery etc..
