Hidden Lies and Everyone A Stranger have just arrived from e-bay. I'll wait for the earlier books to come so I can read them in order.

The first book of the series, Paradise Barn, arrived on Saturday and I've started reading it today. I like the map of the village, reminiscent of Saville's books, and I found the part where Molly's mum was explaining Hitler's anatomy by referring to Molly's little brother very amusing. The story races along and the clues and the suspects are mounting up. I'm really enjoying reading this book.

It's good to know that a number of forumites are reading and enjoying these books. :D The characters and events have lingered in my mind and I'd like to re-read the series in a year or two and take time to appreciate all the little details and the quality of the writing.

I've finished Paradise Barn and really enjoyed it. As others have said the series gets better with each successive book, I'm in for a treat.

I went to a meeting of the local Chalet Group yesterday and 2 of our members had been to a meeting in Bristol where some writers of children's books were speaking. (It was arranged by Topsy Turvy in case anyone has heard of them). Anyway they were much impressed by one of the speakers... Victor Watson. I was the only one of our group who had heard of him, thanks to this site. They said besides what he had to say, they liked the way he went and sat in the audience to listen to the next speakers rather than dash away as soon as he had finished, as others seemed to have done. I really must get my hands on his books!

It's a super little series, Daisy. I've read the first three and I've got the final book, Everyone A Stranger to look forward to. I've heard of Topsy Turvy, two ladies who deal in children's books.

I almost gave mine away to charity this morning, as I have too many books. In the end, I couldn't.

That's a good commendation of them Nigel. I shall have to look for them. Has anyone found his books in shops or are they only available on line?

I bought mine online, I don't know if they're available in bookshops, but I haven't seen any.
