The Swiss Family Robinson was written by Johann Wyss and was intended for children.
   Mega cringe. I'm glad I got that corrected. Me and my friends had been wrongly assuming for a long time that Swiss Family Robinson was written by Swift, though God knows why.  I checked my copy now and saw that I was wrong. Really sorry. Still, I did enjoy SFR!
I know it is a political satire, but it's so incredibly boring, even as a satire. I mean come on, you just don't feel like turning the page!

  The population of Virgin Island would decline quickly in that case!
You can call me Sunskriti!

No worries. When you read a lot of books you're almost bound to get muddled occasionally. Just the other day I confused Tony by commenting on Eric Leyland's All Hands on Deck but referring to it (twice!) as Full Steam Ahead. I haven't even read Full Steam Ahead!

I must admit I like Gulliver's Travels, but you have to be in the right mood for it.
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."
- E. Nesbit, The Wonderful Garden.

as opposed to the 'Left mood' ? ;-)

I must admit I've had Gulliver's Travels for years but never read it all the way through!
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

I must admit that I couldn't get into Gullivers Travels at all when I started it many years ago. I never did complete it.

The very first Enid Blyton novels I recall reading are the Faraway Tree trilogy, and in adult "literature" Alice Walworth Graham's THE VOWS OF THE PEACOCK and T E Lawrence SEVEN PILLARS OF WISDOM - not much variety there  but both fabulous reads.
"Its a magic wood!" said Fanny suddenly.
