Some good titles there, Pete. They look like adventures for Boys though to me.

I'm surprised Enid didn't run into copyright issues when, 16 years after Judd's The Isle of Adventure, she named the first book of her new series The Island of Adventure!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

There is no copyright in a title. The only way you could get into trouble would be if you were trying to pass off the later work as the original.

Not nessesarily, Julie - the Hardy Boys series seems to be for boys - but it's just as good for girls too!

I've never heard of Alfred Judd, Pete, and I'm quite certain I've never come across any of his books anywhere either. He was certainly prolific in a short time, he published eight different titles in 1927! Let us know if you manage to find any of them.
