I loved this book. The writer's imagination was Wow! Somehow The only thing bad was that the girl India Opal Balouni didn't meet her mum and neither does it have any follow up books for the end. My favourite sentence in it was" Sometimes I feel the whole world has an aching heart" Do you all feel really sad at times.
There was a candy in the book that when you ate it you felt melancholy. I wondered if it could happen in real!
The most amazing thing in it was that a dog was allowed in the church.
How many of you read this book?

I haven't read the book but my children and I saw the film about four years ago and we found it touching. I like the actress Anna Sophia Robb, who plays Opal (I think she's just called Opal in the film). She was also in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Bridge to Terabithia, among other things.

Are you thinking that she ought to add Sophie and (possibly) Sarah/Fergie?Yak wrote:There is really an author called Kate Di Camillo?

I read the book and saw the film. Really good. Thought the book was much better though!
