Only just launched and already sold out! That must beat even Enid Blyton.

Congratulations to Stephen on his work and success. I have no interest in railways except as a means of getting from A to B but I am glad to see that so many are enjoying his work.

 He'd have to sell a heck of a lot to catch up with Blyton, John. :P

Why don't you and Stephen combine your talents and write some Blytonesque mysteries on and around the Cornish railways? :D

Not a bad idea there, Carlotta. Trouble is my hubby only writes and reads non-fiction.

But I'm sure he'd dish out loads of advice about the railways!

Yes that's what I was thinking - he could provide tons of information and interesting things about the railways, and lots of good photos too, and you could use your Blytonesque writing skills and come up with some adventures :D
You never know - seeing his favourite places described in a good old mystery adventure might persuade him to read them and enjoy some fiction :D

That's terrible! Imagine a life with no stories.... On the other hand, I rarely read non-fiction. :|

Juie, has your Hubby ever cast his authors eye over the railway classic 'Five Go Off To Camp'....may be a good intro to temp him into the world of 'Spook Trains' 'Disused Railway Yards' and the like albeit in a fictional setting

Pete you star - you've just given me an idea! :D

Julie - why don't you actually put Stephen in your book - he could be the main character, and his job is what he actually does in real life, and his wife has been reading up on the local spooky legends of some sort of 'spook train' or something of the kind (and she loves that kind of thing, as she writes mystery stories herself  ), and he doesn't believe a word of it, as he is only keen on non-fiction and doesn't read silly tales or legends, but then strange things start to happen where he works so he starts taking his wife seriously and reading up on the tales, and finds them a lot more interesting and real than he ever thought......

 :D

This sounds like a very interesting book, I really must put it on my "to buy" list once my existing pile of "to reads" starts to diminish.

Right now I am rather excited as there is talk of a new preservation group seeking to reopen part of the old Meon Valley line that ran between Fareham and Alton. :D A preserved railway right on my doorstep, wonderful. 8)

Congratulations, Stephen! I don't have much of an interest in railways either, but I enjoy picking up bits of information which interests me. Well Done. :D
