It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Glad someone else asked that; I don't think I have ever read this thread before.

EDIT: Judging by the 876 Replies and 56163 Views he is a popular chap, whoever he is.

Looks like the Doc's going to be busy. If there's one thing he can't stand, it's being ignored.
Has anyone got any ideas as to how he can court more publicity for his masterpiece?

Dave,if you look at Stephen's twitter account he seems more than capable of self promotion.
Reading through his earnest anecdotage tweets left me stunned and agog...

"To infinity and beyond" as Buzz Lightyear would have said- If he wasn't too busy reading ' The Anecdotage' of course.

It would seem that using a journalist in Wales wouldn't be a good idea.

Anita Bensoussane wrote:Neither have you told us whereabouts in George Greenfield's book he states that Enid Blyton "would from time to time call him for advice pertaining to whether commas had to be or not be included in some of the sentences in her books".
Anita, I am still going over George Greenfield's biography on Enid Blyton as well as his other book, A smattering [/i]of Monsters in which his chapter in that book, titled, "The Famous One," was exclusively based on Enid Blyton. I am sure I will come across that information (unless it appears somewhere in fine print). It is a pity George Greenfield never created an index for the book, but nevertheless, I will keep searching for that information in those two books...

Stephen, I would love to help in suggesting new/alternate cover design options should you ever decide to unleash such a newly monikered Anecdotage upon an expectant and unsated global market.
How about it?

Pete, as for the cover, the cover will remain the same, after all I ingeniously created a cover based on Eileen Soper's illustration depicting the first official meeting of The Famous Five!!!
Stephen I.

Very true Stephen.
It was a flash of genius perhaps even akin to Uncle Quentin's marvellous Sko Wheel.
I don't know what your stance on Betty Maxey is,but I do know you are fair and impartial on most things.

A new voluptuous cover that united these two giants of Enid Blyton Famous Five illustrations throughout the decades might sway the hoards of Betty Maxey followers to check out your book???

ps
Do we ever learn what Uncle Quentin's official academic qualifications are?
Is he a professor? He mixes and works with them.
Is he a scientist? If so which books inform us of that?
In the first book he seems to be a man who writes books about scientific matters, suggesting that he is an author too.
Along with this he seems to have a laboratory in his study with scientific apparatus.
He conducts large scale field experiments some involving the use of large tower like structures that must be surrounded by water....
