Has anybody here read this collection of stories? Very amusing, fanciful, imaginative and interesting answers to questions children are always likely to ask.
I first came into contact with them when 'How the Camel Got his Hump' was a chapter in this year's English Textbook (2008-2009). I was hooked and intrigued by this story and therefore searched for the full collection. At first it was fruitless but finally I got a copy recently. A nice Indian edition.
As for Kipling's other work, I read a (very) abridged edition of The Jungle Book when I was about 9. I have yet to read the original, as well as Kim.

I haven't read the Just So Stories for years, but I did re-read some of the Jungle Book stories not long ago. I've always liked the tale of Rikki-tikki-tavi the mongoose. My copy of the Jungle Book (books 1 and 2 in one volume, in fact) is illustrated by Stuart Tresilian.

I love Stuart Tresilian's illustrations for The Jungle Book. I also have the 'double' version with first and second Jungle Books, a very good condition hardback, with dust wrapper, 1955 edition. It's actually a book I haven't read yet!
