It's been some time since I read the books or listened to the German audiobooks, too many other things to do :-(. But once I have the time (maybe when I'm retired) I hopefully will reread them, maybe even in English.
Spot on. Those are the titles.

Yes, this is the other cult series, along with all Enid Blyton books that really popular back then my country. I also considered this as my favorite series. They got different vibe compare to Enid Blyton.

I enjoy the headquarter setting. Jupiter Jones is quite interesting comparison to Fatty.

There was a book brought out by TTI's competitors about a boy detective living in the early 1900s. In one book they had a diabetic character. Before the discovery of insulin, diabetes was always fatal and the boy detective was told "someday science will find a cure".

Even today there is no cure and while diabetes is not as quickly fatal as before insulin, it is still a very serious disease that progressively wears out and destroys the body and in severe cases, even insulin will not prevent an early death.

A spot of Googling led me to The Great Brain and sequels by John Dennis Fitzgerald. I hadn't heard of them before but they sound interesting:

The "Brains Benton" series are highly recommended if you like the Three Investigators. Details can be found here:

You may also like the Power Boys books - see:

All long out of print, but should be easily available on line reasonably inexpensively.

Sounds interesting indeed, MJE.

Actually the other series that very popular here is T.K.K.G. from Germany by psedeu Stefan Wolf. It is quite adventure almost a hybrid between Enid Blyton adventure style + AMerican action.

That is also a series full of nostalgia to me, perhaps we should have TKKG forum discussion if not yet created.
