Very good, but what's the betting the film company will try and sue them for breach of copyright?

I think they'll get away with it (well, I hope) - copyright laws allow for parody, and that's what this is. I think it would only be a breach of copyright if they reproduced an actual image from the films without permission, which they haven't.

That's good then.

Well, I've seen other send-ups already over the past 15 years or so since they started making the films - author Adam Roberts wrote parodies of The Hobbit and The Silmarillion, called The Soddit and The Sellamillion (by "A.R.R.R. Roberts"), while MAD Magazine did a comic strip spoof of the Lord of the Rings films, which I think was entitled Bored of the Rings. So I think they'll let the RSPB get away with it too.

I should hope so as it's a charity.

Well, exactly. I'd be happy to buy one myself, but it looks like they only have men's sizes! :|

I think you said you are quite small in build, so maybe you could buy an extra large one, and take the side seams in and turn it into a dress?

I don't think the results would be very elegant somehow!!

Well maybe one of Enid's many female characters with 'clever fingers' could alter it for you?

I'm Surprised you've gotten away with that. When I wrote "Sod" in the limerick thread someone complained about me and got it deleted!

But you're otherwise right. In any case I think it would be Tolkien 's estate rather than the film company who would do any sueing.

We've just acquired the latest and last part of THE HOBBIT DVD - a gala performance of the whole trilogy to follow!

We picked up a copy in Tesco earlier in the week, and watched it the next night. Didn't do a run of all three as we didn't have nine hours to spare!

We staggered it over 3 nights, looked forward to joining Bilbo & the dwarves for the ongoing adventure :D
