My Best Bit Chapter Two

The story is coming along nicely now - the Five can't convene at Kirrin because of the storms and the danger of another tree blowing onto Kirrin Cottage.

A fellow boarder at the boys school, Larry Daykin,(yes the one and only) suggests the five all head to Peterswood instead.Ju doesn't want to get involved in any more adventures as he's quite grown up now at seventeen.

Dick however still has that magical sense of pre-holiday excitement at the idea of a Peterswood camping holiday:
"It sounds super!" Dick smiled, feeling excited. He had been strongly deflated when Julian had informed him that they would not be going to Kirrin, but the imminent trip to Peterswood had filled him with excitement once more. It was always nice to begin the hols, especially when you had somewhere new and exciting to go! And somewhere like Peterswood was bound to be exciting, after all the marvellous adventures Larry had had there. No doubt they would meet the other Find-Outers, and the infamous Mr. Goon that he had told them all about. And they may even get caught up in a mystery of their own. Dick didn't want to get his hopes up here; he knew Julian had adamantly given up on adventures altogether. Julian could be equally as stubborn as George when he wanted to be, and that was quite an accomplishment. He wouldn't take kindly to something strange cropping up, Dick knew for certain.

I have managed to read the rest now. It appears to be unfinished, there being 14 chapters which seem to have been written over many months. Apparently A levels interrupted progress at one stage and I guess we may never know the ending. The style is not very Blytonish but it did contain some good ideas. I spotted one anomaly and many weeks/months gap may have contributed to it. I'll be intereseted to hear Pete's views in due course.

Well I certainly don't fancy trying! Having done so in the Round Robin stories I think coping with multiple groups is not easy!

It may be easier to 'prompt' the original author to get his finger and his pen out! :D

It was last updated in 2014 so I wonder if the author has now moved on to other things.

I might ask the author if I could finish it - might evoke a possessive 'no it's my story I will finish it' reaction! :D
