A few of us on Saturday in Beckenham had the idea that it would be nice to arrange an ad hoc visit to Old Thatch, with lunch at the Spade Oak next door, in Bourne End in August this year, for those who possibly could not make Beckenham and those of us who would like to go back. We propose Sunday 4th August - aiming to meet up at say 1230 at the Spade Oak in Coldmoorholme Lane and then to visit the gardens and have afternoon tea. Even just half a dozen would make an outing - any interest at this stage. We will be going anyway!

Sounds a lovely idea, but sadly that's the one day of the holidays we have something else booked for. Hopefully you'll do something similar next year though which I'd be able to make.

If you look at the web page for Old Thatch it says opening days are Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday! August 3rd is a Saturday.

Daisy - you are absolutely right. The usual opening days are Wednesday Saturday and Sunday, but I guess this year Jacky and David decided they wanted Saturday to themselves. In that case, who is up for a visit on Sunday 4 August?
