I see that this appears to be going ahead in London on the 1st of August (which is a Saturday) at 2pm. Is anyone planning to attend? Tickets can be bought at this link below from the 14th of July.

I have tried clicking on your link John, and I just get a page saying 'Access Denied'. Perhaps you have to be a BFI member to see the page which will not help with booking tickets!

Thanks, Lucky Star. I was wondering just the other day what date the tickets were going on sale. I can't get through on that link either but I'm hoping to go and see the film and will browse the website and buy a ticket on 14th July.

Who else is planning to come?

Anita

Like everyone else I can't access the link. Can anyone tell me exactly where it is in London?

Hmmm when I posted that message I tested the link and it worked fine. Now I'm also getting the access denied page. :? Very strange. I found it by going to www.bfi.org.uk, clicking on film programme and then clicking August 1st on the calender which appeared. Now the calender seems to only be for July. Its a rather odd way of selling tickets.

Its on at the Southbank centre which is pretty near both Waterloo and Charing Cross rail stations. I'm sure there must be a tube station close by also.

I see what you mean about the BFI site Lucky Star, what a strange way to do business. It could of course be a glitch in the system. Unfortunately, I will have to miss this showing as I will be in Bratislava on a (polite) drinking mission with a few of my workmates, a pity as I would have loved to have seen this C.F.F adaptation. Perhaps someone can smuggle a camcorder into the cinema and record discretely?

Alternatively, we could try and persuade Norman Wright to secure a DVD release of Mystery, although I suspect that he would not touch a project like that with a barge pole. His talk at the E.B Day fully explained the difficulties involved.

After listening to Norman's speech at the EBS day I agree that he would certainly not touch such a project for love or money. A pity you will miss the occassion Petermax but I'm sure you will do full justice to the efforts of Slovakian brewers. :D

The annual leave is booked, the train tickets are bought, the alarm on the phone is set for Tuesday to book tickets, just waiting for something to go wrong!

I'd love to come along but I think it will take too long to get there on the train. Also I'm not familiar with London, and would probably end up goodness knows where :?

Julie,

That's part of the adventure!! I'm leaving myself several hours to negotiate London...

Does anyone know how long the film is?

True, Zoe. But am a little too old for adventures

I've turned into a find-outer and done some checking on the internet. As we'll be in Dorset, the train from Weymouth goes to Waterloo. Does anyone else arrive at Waterloo, and could hold my hand as London is an alien city to little old me. :P

According to Journal 39, the complete serial runs for approximately 96 minutes.

Come on, Julie, steel yourself for an adventure!

Julie Waterloo Station is about three minutes walk from the South Bank centre so it would be really easy to find. If you like I can arrange to meet you off the train and walk around with you. Just let me know if you decide to come. :D
