I don't know where the diagonal black line and the pinholes have come from. They definitely weren't there before. When I tried to reinstall the avatar I got a message to say the image was too big so I resized it to below the 100 pixel limit. At least everyone can see it.

Probably a bullet hole and a fishing line.

I just went into "Avatar Settings" in Admin to see if anything was amiss, but all looks as it should.

I've found in the past that I sometimes have trouble viewing images (on a range of websites) if Adobe isn't up to date. Other than that, I don't know what causes these variations.

I have noticed that a deletion then a re-submission usually fixes the problem - usually a conflict somewhere in the software. That doesn't explain the attempts on the puffins' lives, though!

I deleted the puffin avatar again and reinstalled it and now it has appeared as it used to be without the bullet holes and the fishing line. I wonder if everyone can still see it or are we back to where we started. :?

All is well!
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
