Thank you for those answers Tony and Rob.

I can't speak for everyone else, but this thread and the similar Sunny Stories magazine thread are absolutely fantastic!

Without the regular work of Tony and Rob we would have no access to this treasure trove of Enid Blyton magazine items.

I certainly hope they continue - even if Rob and Tony decide to produce them less frequently if they are busy.

Rob Houghton commented that it's always fascinating to read what Enid Blyton's enterprising young readers did to raise money for charity. What a pity it's not possible to see what the novelty soaps and Toyland cakes looked like.

I can in fact enlighten Rob and explain that back in 1957 we got the novelty and toyland cakes of soap from my uncle who worked for Lever Brothers in South Africa. They were cakes of soap shaped like Noddy, Big Ears and other 'Toyland' characters. Here's an example that I have just found in Google images.

It's great to see you on here - and to see the Noddy soap!

In case anyone is wondering, this is the issue which contained the letter about soap and other items being sold at a fete:
