The thing that gets me about 'celebrity' shows is that they are totally devoid of people I would consider 'celebrities' lol. Where is Ginger Rogers, Gene kelly, Clark Gable, Errol Flynn, Al Jolson, Cyd Charrise, Fred Astaire? THEY were 'celebrities'.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I think some of them are said to be famous for being famous - which seems to be an allusion to that.Rob Houghton wrote:The thing that gets me about 'celebrity' shows is that they are totally devoid of people I would consider 'celebrities' lol. The trouble with those Rob, is that they aren't exactly in a fit state to partake!Rob Houghton wrote:The thing that gets me about 'celebrity' shows is that they are totally devoid of people I would consider 'celebrities' lol. Precisely my point, lol! We have no 'celebrities' now!! generally people who take part in 'I'm A Celebrity' are washed-up or unknown!!

I suspect that Toff will do very well out of this year's though .. she's ultimately made herself famous (I know she was on some show or other before this but I doubt many people had heard of her) by winning this
