Always remember that 'quietest place' quote from the Lone Pine books. I echo the comments about 'Secret of Grey Walls' being one of the best in the series. Would love to travel around that area myself - particularly if I could go back to the 50s ;)

We're now thinking of of stopping overnight at a B&B in Clun on our way home to soak up the atmosphere!

Its a while since we were that way, but recommend the Clun Farmhouse, very Enid Blyton!, our host & hostess were Anthony and Susan I do recall, and they make you very welcome. If you do stay, enjoy! Meanwhile we are on our way to Venice, hoping for sunshine on those canals, look forward to catching up with the Forums on my return!

The pub featured in the book (can't remember the name) is now sadly closed. I so wanted to drop in!

Looks like a beautiful town. I could do with a little peace and quiet right about now, for Diwali starts soon, and that means firecrackers, yelling, noise, scared doggo, pollution, smoke....
