Great to see Americans who can eat real food, and aren't just stuck on junk food.

Interesting to see Americans get excited by traditional English food, which we take for granted..& complain about too often! Love the comment "Pasties are attributed to Cornwall. I guess Cornwall is some other area in England"!

I wonder if they think all puddings come from Yorkshire!

I enjoyed watching this. I thought they'd try roast beef, Yorkshire pudding etc. They enjoyed what they had which was good. :)

Cream Tea CORNWALL VS DEVON!
Published on Jul 29, 2017
We're finally in Cornwall and we're on a mission to try some proper Cream Tea at Porthgwarra Cafe! The question is: will we prefer it the Devon way or the Cornwall way? But first we head to the amazing Minack outdoor Theater!

I never remember which is which - but I always put the JAM on first! :-D

hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

That's the Cornish way. 8) (At least, so I've always been told, but I'm sure there are some who'll dispute it.)

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

According to a programme that I saw on tv. In Devon, the clotted cream goes on first while in Cornwall the jam goes on first.
(for some reason I made a note of this in the 'notes' page of my 2014 diary). Jack really needs to get out more!

A comma would possibly make the meaning clearer. Without it could potentially be read as a programme you watched in Devon informed you that clotted cream goes first. Though with reading the rest of the sentence it isn't hard to make out your true meaning.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Thanks for your reply, Fiona. Unfortunately, I must have been busy rewriting my post as you posted- so no one else is likely to know what you are replying to. (I realised myself hence the edit). Hope all is well with you.

Being from neither, over here in sunny(ish) Sussex I'm a jam-first kinda gal. Does anyone know which came first? Was there a 'first'?

I put cream on one half then spread jam on the other half. Then I combine the two halves of scone together.
I think this is the method used in Devonwall... :D
