Well done, Eddie! I've been on the forums since 2010 & have only amassed just short of one & half thousand posts. I should reach the 10,000 mark somewhere around 2047!

Congrats, Eddie! Gosh, this brings back memories of the time when Nigel crossed 10,000. Most of the younger members (including myself, of course) then began to post utter nonsense at times, simply to increase their post count. Thankfully, the craze died down after a while, and I don't think the situation has ever repeated itself.

Always wonderful to hear from Eddie, he's one of the stars of this forum. Congratulations to Eddie and all the others who make the forums such a great place to come to.

Like others I was amazed to see the drop in my own count after the recent pruning. The word games become routine after a while so one doesn't really notice how often one contributes to them.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

To some degree because there was a threat of having the count number removed altogether!

I think the more polite you are as a person, the more posts you have...many of Eddies are 'thank you so-and-so' posts - because he's such a gentleman! :-D

At the end of the day, does it really matter how many posts we have. As I said, I never even look at mine, and was quite surprise to see the number that was under my name!
