Fine, John, but of course with all this writing now, it takes up a lot of his time.

Fine thanks, Rob. I've been sent what could be the cover, but I've refused it, as I wasn't keen on their choice. I have asked if I can have someone illustrate for me, and they said yes, but they have to see it first and see if it's marketability. I guess when a publisher is publishing at their expense, then they are allowed the final say.

I'm happy to sign any book anyone buys!

I believe a book signing will be organized for me at Waterstones, that's also where Stephen does his book signings. Just thinking about it terrifies me. I don't mind writing the books, but not keen on the publicity!

You're one step closer to become a published author yourself. Well done! :D

Couldn't you paint a cover design, Julie?

I bet its a real learning-curve, having a book published! :-)

Julie, I just went to a third book signing on 22nd of July when a friend from Nantucket introduced her new novel. It was not very crowded, maybe 30 women and 2 men (my husband being one of them).
Nancy talked for probably 20 minutes about her life and how she became an author. Then her readers had many questions about how life on Nantucket is like during the winter months. Through those questions she lost her nervousness and got so engaged that it really was a pleasure to listen to her and it was very successful book signing.

In the summer of 2006 I went all the way to Cape Cod to attend a book signing held by Nathaniel Philbrick (he introduced his new book "Mayflower", his most famous book is "In the Heart of the Sea" which was filmed a few years ago). That was also a very relaxed affair. 8)

My first time ever that I went to a book signing was in October 1998 when Mary Higgins Clark signed her new crime novel in Hamburg, Germany, at a large bookstore in Wandsbek-Carrée, a mall. At the Frankfurt Book Fair in early October MHC got a very bad cold and could barely speak. The bookstore was packed! Her fans were delighted to catch a glimpse of her.
