That's brilliant, Julie!

I can at least call myself a 'published author' as I've had a short story printed in 'The People's Friend' - and was paid for it - only £79 but better than nothing! :D

hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes

Nice news Julie.
Will you be using a nom de plume?

Do you mean a pen name Pete?

If you do, then yes. It will be under a pen name, which is also on the contract I signed along with my own name.

As long as you're not writing an adult Famous Five under the pen name 'Enid Blyton'

It really is brilliant news. As someone who knows just exactly how difficult it is to get published these days (I've been rejected about 40 times!) I know what a great achievement it is. Well done Julie. :-D

thank you, Robert. I have been rejected heaps of times too. But because you may have a rejection, it doesn't mean to say your novel isn't any good. It just means that the publisher may not want to take a chance on a book they are not sure of.

I think that is why many these days go down the self publishing route. But by going down that route, it just means that you have to do your own selling of the book etc. The beauty of a published novel means they do it all for you, but they'll still only publish when they feel the time is right. My hubby's publisher has had his book number 3 volume on their files for 2 years now!

That's wonderful, Julie - well done! I'm looking forward to finding out more about the book at the proper time! :D

I'd be interested to know if you were accepted by a publisher directly or if it was through an agent, but if you'd rather not say then don't worry. :)
