This news has really saddened me.
I knew the original cast could not last forever, but it's the end of an era.
William Shatner said feels like he has lost a brother.

Very sad, as everyone knows this actor as Mr. Spock. He was a good age from what I've read.

A shame to hear about Leonard Nimoy. I enjoyed him playing Mr Spock in Star Trek.

R.I.P Mr Spock. Been a fan of the original Star Trek all my life and still watch the repeats today as well as the films. Have all the original series on dvd's as well as magazines that go with the series. Got my son hooked on Star Trek when he was young and now he has his sons hooked as well. End of an era.

Nothing has ever touched the original series of Star Trek. I wonder if Vulcans go to Heaven? Wherever you go Leonard, go in peace. LLAP

Only just read about this this morning. While I wasn't as huge a Trekkie as others, I have certainly seen it over the years, and in recent weeks have been watching lots of Star Trek. I found Spock to be an amazing incredibly fascinating character, uniquely played by Leonard Nimoy. While the others would often let their emotions get the better of them, he would remain this cool, level-headed, rational starship officer.

R.I.P. Leonard Nimoy, and a televisual icon.

Sad news indeed. Maybe it's time to rewatch the 80 episodes again and reread the Star Trek novels...

He really dominated the TV series despite being deputy to Kirk. I loved the episode where he was infected with spores and became a hippy - more like the person he really was.
