I just buy Asda's in a box of 6. Nice pastry, doesn't repeat on me and not expensive.
Julian gave an exclamation and nudged George.

I got through about eight boxes of Co-op ones last December at £1 a pack; so I guess I can recommend them. Made my own this year - 60 so far!

I hate mince pies. All of them.

I used to love mince pies when I was younger, but I've gone of them a little now (although one every now and again does give a Proustian flash of Christmases past). Stollen is my usual Christmas guilty pleasure these days.

No, can't say I have Pete. Not sure where my nearest Aldi is either. I usually get mine from the local delicatessen, or the House of Fraser food hall.

If you're a stollen connoisseur Walter, and I suspect you are, I would be fascinated to hear what you think about Aldi's version.
It weighs about as much as an English house brick,a full setter and is very moreish.
It costs about two quid so it's not exorbitantly pricey if you decide you don't like it.
Sometimes we butter it,well actually most times we do,with a huge mug of tea....

I prefer Bramley apple pies. Haven't gone out of my way to compare different brands, though.
