The scary thing is, as we've just confirmed, there really IS an Enid Blyton short story called The Undressed Golliwog. :P

Well, Noddy was undressed when we first met him in Noddy Goes to Toyland, and again in Here Comes Noddy Again (when his clothes were stolen by golliwogs!), so it's not an unprecedented idea in an Enid Blyton book — and I'm sure she didn't mean anything harmful by it.

Not to mention a few rumours about tennis parties... ;-)

I wonder if we could persuade Enid's publishers to take this idea and make it a reality?

It would be a lovely idea...until the golliwogs were all whitened and became goblins! :-(

The Undressed Goblin might be even scarier.

And maybe they will be neigbours of him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pumuckl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or something like this.

Not to forget what should happen with Noddy? ;-)

We have been discussing this series for so long that I automatically know that Five Do Dry January does not exist!

It does — they've just renamed it Five Give Up the Booze.

Excellent mash-up, Pete. I'm sure if Enid were around today, she would be delighted with these worthy sequels to her legendary works, specially aimed at her mature fans... :P

Interesting that they changed the title to something a little more obvious. I guess the type of adult who might pick these up might not know what 'dry January' was... ;-)

I look forward to more titles, like 'Five Shut Up and Lock themselves Away', "Five all get exterminated", "Five don't have anything else worth writing about" and "Five Murder Bruno Vincent Together'
