For those interested, this is the tour that Chick and I are planning to book for next spring:

It should be quite an adventure.

Just watched the vid & read the itinerary for your planned hols, Eddie! The price looks expensive, but you do get a lot for your money. It'll be a great experience for you both.

I haven't been to York yet, but it sounds well worth it — have a great time, Julie.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
Have a nice time Julie. I went to York on a school trip in 1975. We went to the York Railway Museum. I bought my mum a key fob from there.
I also bought her a horse brass from York which she hung up on the wall of our cottage.
I bought the horse brass as I was just reading about Anne Kirrin liking them in the book I was reading at the time - I'm sure everyone will know which book that was!

Of course we do, Pete. The York museum is fantastic. I particularly liked the room settings from decades back to the modern when I visited about 20 years ago.

I've not been to York since the early 60's, so looking forward to seeing it again and to see if it's changed at all.
We went to Whitby yesterday, and I loved it. Bought some Whitby jet too. The day before we were in Goathland, the home of Heartbeat!

I've never been to York, Whitby or Goathland but they sound great and I hope you thoroughly enjoy the rest of your holiday, Julie.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
Thanks all. Back now from York. Great place loved the shops and the Shambles. We did a bus tour, took an hour, and it explained all about the history of York. Very interesting indeed. We past Dick Turpin's grave too. A lonely little grave in a small graveyard.
