Re: Happy Birthday Dick!
Many thanks to all those who thought of me yesterday. It was a nice day, a picnic, however, wasn't feasible. We had to have lunch indoors, but the memory still makes my mouth water.
Apart from that, we went to a wildlife park, so that Timmy could have a chat - more of a howl, actually, with his relations, the wolves. They have one of the largest packs of wolves in Europe there, and at feeding time you actually have a chance to see them. It's amazing how different they are and how differently they interact with each other, their food and the people watching them eat.
Some grab their bit and are gone, whereas others make sure the photographers get them from all sides, you could really think they were posing for the cameras. Always a great fun to see them.

I love seeing wolves, there are a lot at Longleat Wildlife Park, they wander about in the woods where you drive through, and they're free to roam anywhere so they're about on the road a lot and wander right next to your car. When we went they were having their lunch and some of them were sat in the middle of the road eating, so we had to wait for them to move, and had lovely views of them as they were about a foot from the car. They're so beautiful.Dick Kirrin wrote:Apart from that, we went to a wildlife park, so that Timmy could have a chat - more of a howl, actually, with his relations, the wolves. The Philip Mannering side of me would have loved to have got out and stroked them but I think I would have been shouted at!
Glad you had a good day!

Pleased you had a good day, Dick. It certainly sounds like you have had a Famous Five/ Adventure series style day!
I've seen plenty of foxes before, but no wolves... Sure they weren't just a big pack of Alsatians?

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
