Sterotypical you mean? :D

Digressing again!

Would anyone like to see my pics from climbing the Long Mynd yesterday?

If you go to my blog, you can find a full account of my Shropshire adventure! :D

Nice to be called Ladies, for a change :D Makes one feel genteel.

Here's the way I used to do it Bannerman:-
4oz of plain flour
2oz of butter or margarine
2oz of caster sugur.

You mix flour and butter to fine breadcrumbs. (This is called the rubbing in method, through your fingers) Then you add your sugar.

Sprinkle on top of desired fruit. And if you like to add a bit of something, sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on top. Cook in oven. :D

I'd like to see them, Pippa-Stef. I'd love to visit Long Mynd because of the Malcolm Saville connection. I'll check out your blog later!

Thanks, Pippa-Stef. It looks just as I'd imagined - the perfect setting for an adventure! I think the gloomy clouds add to the atmosphere!

:D

I loved it!

The valley My Dad and I walked up, was the one where the Mortons first walked in Mystery at Witched end, at the top is where Dickie got stuck in the Bog and Peter helped rescue him! And dare I say it   Where David and Peter's biggest adventure began!

*Leers goodnaturedly at Moonraker*

Not at all, Old Thing! Just that my mother did her best, to discourage me from cooking and baking, when I was younger. And since, back then, cooking and baking was traditionally something Ladies did, I never really had any opportunity to learn.

Pippa-Stef, maybe it is stereotypical now. Some of us were raised in different generations, where men and women had predefined roles. Not like today, though.

Thank you very much, Julie2Owlsdene. May I ask how long I need to cook the crumble, please?

It really all depends, whether you have electric oven or gas oven Bannerman. All I can advise is to have it on a medium heat and keep checking. It should only take about 20 mins really. As soon as you see the crumble changing to a darker colour, just take it out and check. You can always pop it back in again.

I could, Moonraker. But since I've already asked here.... :D

Julie2Owlsdene, I have a gas oven, if it's of help.

He could Nigel, but my recipee is far tastier :D

Sorry Bannerman, but I cook by electric, we can't get gas in our village. (Anyone would think I lived on the moon)
