Well said Anita. Thanks, Pete all who contribute on here. Let's hope that next year we manage a get together in May. :D

I agree totally. :D

Thank you for your kind words, Courtenay. Congratulations on your ten years too, Julie. :D

Time usually flies, but in this instance it doesn't seem to - to me, at least. I would have said I've been her for twenty years, but I see it's only been twelve. What a lucky day that was. Imagine if I hadn't found an old Adventure book in my m-i-l's bookcase and not Googled Enid Blyton. I wouldn't have met (both figuratively and really) you all and you wouldn't have known me (no bad thing, I hear you say).

Congratulations Julie and Eddie - and all of us who reach these milestones. The forums have been part of 18% of my life - sometimes irritating, sometimes making me laugh, but always entertaining, as a real family does.

It's eleven years ago this month since I joined and I too rejoice that I made the decision eventually, after lurking for some time. I know what you mean Nigel - it seems we have always been part of what has become an important part of our lives. I look forward to meeting again next May.

Congrats on your 10 year anniversary, Eddie!

Like many others, I am so glad I joined this great community and also pleased to have made some good 'friends' on here - some of whom I have met.

I also have to agree that it seems longer since I've known Eddie...in the nicest possible way! - did you attend any EB Days before you joined the website, as I did, Eddie? :D

I've been here over 12 years. Time flies!!

I'm coming up to four years on the forums, a relative junior. I enjoy the interaction, the discussions and debates we have and also the way the regulars rally round when someone is suffering bad news or our delight when someone is sharing good news.
Congratulations Eddie on your ten years here. I am delighted that I've met nearly all of the "senior" forumites and a finer bunch of people it would be hard to find.

Gosh now I feel like such a newbie, just a little past 5 years for me!
Congratulations Eddie, Julie, and anyone else who has stuck around for so long! :D
Time truly does fly. I've changed a lot in these 5 years. I was a stuck up, rude, runty, immature little idiot when I joined, and except for the idiot part, I daresay I've outgrown all that. You guys were my first internet friends, (strange to think that I'm saying that to a group of people whose average age is probably well over 50, but anyways  There's only a little n separating fifty from fifteen anyways  ) I'm truly glad I found this society, and although I never did get a chance to meet you, you can always hope, right? (or quake, seeing as this is me I'm talking about)

John Pickup, are you quite sure you joined after me? I always used to think you were one of the old hands.

Also, you all have Viv to blame for introducing me to the society! Although I did make an account in April 2012, I forgot all about it and was reminded when Viv mentioned the forums to me in May when I visited her lovely shop in Poole.

How did this post become so long? Honestly, I can literally just write a paragraph saying Hi to someone, I suck at word limits.

I agree! John - those puffins have been around longer than 4 years, surely? ;-)

As for there being not much between 15 and 50, you're probably right, Sunskriti -- in fact many 15 year old's are much more mature than us oldies!

So has mine! I pulled my left shoulder many years ago - an old recurring injury from lifting weights. :(
