I still prefer Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel's Sebastian and Tumbling down - though I haven't heard too much of them. But Come up and see me isn't that bad a song either.Julie2owlsdene wrote:Cockney Rebble. Come up and see me (make me smile).
Brilliant song.
That reminds me, when I introduced Sebastian to a friend in the USA, he first wondered in which language he sings...

Oh Very Young, by Cat Stevens.
A great storyteller, I think.

I just listened to I Can Lose My Heart Tonight by CC Catch.
I love love love music.
My favorite genres are Pop, Dance, Soul, Jazz... some Rock. As a 80s teen Duran Duran and Kim Wilde were my all! sweet memories.

Re: Last Song You Listened To
I've been listening to "The Beautiful South" lately – a great mixture of melancholy and cynicism, some of my favourite tracks being A Little Time, I'll Sail this Ship Alone, You Keep It All In and Woman in the Wall (I couldn't find a good quality recording of the latter on YouTube).
I remember years ago when Song for Whoever was in the charts and my friend and I were listening to it on the radio. After it had finished, the DJ said, "Ah, what a sweet love song!" My friend and I rolled our eyes at that. We couldn't decide whether he genuinely didn't "get" it or he hadn't actually listened to a word!

The Mitchell/Graham song 'The Flame', performed by Cheap Trick.
The words don't seem to mean much but the performance was fairly lively, though not something that someone from my generation can classify. Interesting use of a bass guitar, though.

I'd never heard that before, Peppermint Peppy! (And can live quite happily without ever hearing it again! )

Tranen Gelachen, sung by one Guus Meeuwis.
Since it's in Dutch, I can't understand a word.....but does that really matter?
