Thanks, Cathy; I have just downloaded it to my Kindle. I read the first few pages in "Look Inside" and it promises to be a good read. Glad that you're now over the weather.

Thanks
It sounds pretty good doesn't it! One of the reviews described dryads, nymphs, talking ravens, in a woodland and hedgerow world - it sounds fascinating! I had never heard of it before, I just found it while browsing the free Kindle books as I often do

Just started reading book about Pitcairn - written in the 1850s. Excellent picture of an ancient world.

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
I bought my two nieces some Frozen dolls for my recent visit to them. They adored them and played with nothing else all weekend. It seems that they loved the film too. It's obviously this year's "thing".
The Bluebell line and the Corfe Castle line are both beautiful railways, a real experience. I must go on the Bluebell line again this year; it has been a long time since I last did it.
Nigel your new avatar is wonderful, who drew it?

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
I want the Frozen dolls but they're just about impossible to get here, only tacky ones that don't look like the characters are available in stores. My parents are going to the UK in June so I'm hoping they find some there, along with a huge list of things that aren't available in Australia.
I'm off to work in a few hours. Yesterday was really busy. My three day headache is gone so that's good. Today I plan to give what is left of my easter chocolate to a friend. I don't think I want to eat chocolate again for a long time. It's also quite cold. We've had wood delievered so I'll be stacking that over the weekend and perhaps Friday, it's a public holiday on Friday for ANZAC Day.

Spare a thought, Rebeccadanielle, for us expats who can't get Arnott's biscuits in the UK.Rebeccadanielle wrote:My parents are going to the UK in June so I'm hoping they find some there, along with a huge list of things that aren't available in Australia.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

What went on at Pitcairn in the early days makes 'Treasure Island' look like a picnic.

Spot on, Anita! Julie also drew a portrait of Jane, and that too is an excellent likeness.Anita Bensoussane wrote:I'm betting that Julie drew it! It's an excellent likeness!Lucky Star wrote:Nigel your new avatar is wonderful, who drew it?

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
Yes, I'm the guilty person! I drew the pencil portraits of Nigel and Jane as a gift for their 40th Wedding Anniversary. I did one of Eddie for his 'special' birthday last year too. They'll all probably shoot me now for giving away their ages!
Julian gave an exclamation and nudged George.

Jane's portrait is great too, Julie. She has lovely eyes, warm and kind, and you've captured them so well. I bet her hair was harder to draw than Nigel's!
