E.C. Mansell Colour Plates

Post by Tony Summerfield »

I have had an email from E J Ainger Pty Ltd which said the following:-

We are an auction house in Melbourne Australia and have nine watercolours for the interior of Enid Blyton's 'Animal Lovers Book', dated 1952 by E.C. Mansell, with original artists notes around borders going to auction on the 2nd of May 2015.

As yet the catalogue isn't up on their website so I am not sure if these are nine separate lots or just one, but I suspect the former. This is all the colour plates as there were just nine in the book.

That's interesting, Tony. I particularly like the colour plates of the otters, the bats, the deer and the field-mice with the field-vole.
