The Enid Blyton Society

After reading The Disappearing Tramp I tried to locate a thread that I was sure existed and I found it at last.

Comment: Great serial for the Fans and written in Blyton mode.

Suggestion: “This is the 16th Enid Blyton Mystery. The other 15 books are … ” (we all know them).

Excerpt: “The garden was bathed in silver, shadows slanting across the lawns mysteriously. Fatty loved to be out on a night like this. It just seemed to smell of adventure and mystery!”

It is “boiling up” to a climax. I have a few ideas/suspicions of my own but I can’t say I have cracked the disappearing tramp case!

At least someone is reading it!! I was begining to wonder...

Yes, someone else is reading it as well! The first thing I do on a Monday morning is turn to the next chapter and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. You're keeping me guessing too!

That was a jolly good yarn Robert. I've just finished reading it and I must say you had me guessing almost to the end. I want to read it all in one go now as serials always seem to me to be a bit disjointed because of the rest of life which has to go on between the chapters! I hope another story is now in the making?

I think Robert wrote that about seven years ago, certainly I have had a very nicely bound hardback copy of it for quite a while, but I don't think he has anything else in the pipeline.

Yes: I actually wrote it in 2000, so that's ten years ago now!! How time flies! Nothing like it in the pipeline at the moment, but you never know. I did start writing a 'Barney Mystery' once: 'The Rigglesby Woods Mystery', but I never finished it...

I've really enjoyed reading it too, Rob and have printed each chapter on Mondays. Now I have a complete copy of The Mystery of the Disappearing Tramp, which I shall put into a folder to reread at my leisure. Many thanks.

Thanks for this, Robert - I may not have commented before, but I really enjoyed reading the story every Monday. Like Daisy, I'll have to read it from the beginning now, to see how it all fits together.

All right I'll be serious - a very good serial. I almost solved the mystery but missed out on a couple of obvious clues. May have to start a petition to get you to write another.

Glad you enjoyed it. It was fun to write, and yes, there were some pretty obvious clues, but mentioned very briefly during the story!

Might try writing another when I have time, but it's just a case of being inspired enough to do so!

It was very enjoyable. I was starting to forget what had gone before so I did a recap and started reading it again from chapter 1 a couple of weeks ago.
Towards the end I guessed some of the mystery from some of the clues, but didn’t work out the whole thing.
