Whilst working on something else this morning I discovered that the four Armada Nature Lover's Books were not in the Cave or even on my computer, very remiss of me so I have now put matters right!

I can remember having these books bought me when they first came out! I've always had a fascination for Wildlife/Nature & I was highly delighted when I obtained them! :D

It's good to see the four Armada Nature Lover's Books in the Cave, Tony. I remember my daughter and son having these paperbacks in the 1970s. :D

I sold a full set of these recently for £15. They didn't even look as if they'd been read. 8)

Several years ago I saw that set in a charity shop. I think I'd got one from my childhood which I'd never read, but thought I knew which number it was, so only bought the other 3, however when I got home I discovered I realised that the one I'd left behind was one I didn't have, and had duplicated with the one I already owned. I returned to the charity shop as soon as I could a few days later, but it had gone. They told me that they'd passed a lot of books to another charity which was holding a one off sale in the community hall a few weeks later. I duly turned up and was lucky enough to find the stray book and now have a complete set. I think I only paid about 50p per book.

I still haven't got around to reading any of them though.

What a great story, Katharine! I bet the "lost" book was delighted to be reunited with its companions! :) I find the photo covers unusual and attractive, and the contents are quite varied and well worth a read. Internally the books are not as sumptuous as the hardbacks from which the material was taken, but they're light and portable and could be taken out and about to read in a suitably pastoral setting!

I added these to the Cave about a month ago, but as nobody seems to have noticed them I thought I would bring some smiles to your faces.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)
