Sorry, yeah, I forgot you were doing the FFO, the review in my mind was the SS short story collection that you did, purely because I remember people discussing it the other day, haha!
Courtenay wrote:Cathy, if you're nice to Bannerman65 he might throw you a new laptop too! :D (he offered this to Lucky Star on another thread)
Aww that would be very kind of him! :) But I never accept anything like that without making an offer of payment and any amount is out of my budget at the present time so I shall remain laptop-less for a while yet!
Anita Bensoussane wrote: Sorry to hear about your laptop, Cathy. If you're likely to have access to a computer again in the near future, you could always "bag" a series if you want and then write the blurbs when you can.
Thanks Anita!
When I do eventually get a new laptop I'll certainly volunteer if there are any series left that I know! :)
I'm afraid I don't know much about the short stories and the Family books so it would have to be maybe the school stories, as all the others have been taken, but that's not me casting that in stone because I have no idea when I'll be able to get a new laptop, so if someone else wants to do the school stories then please go ahead and let them do it! :)

I'm up to my neck in work at the moment which takes preference over blurbs, so I am not desperate for anything immediately. Remember that I like uniformity in the Cave and that means real names, so I guess that wouldn't suit you, Farwa!

I've read the blurbs just now. They are very good and enticing :D

Thanks for making it clear, Anita.
Julie2owlsdene wrote:A few of us have volunteered to do the blurbs for certain series.

When Tony recieves them, and he has the time, he will then put them on the site.

Is this what you were asking?
Yes, Julie, thank you.

Well, I'll write the blurbs for the Malory Towers and Adventurous Four series - it's OK if they are looked at late.
As for names, cautious as I am, I'm not a secret agent either! :)

I could do some St Clare's "blurbs" if that's any help, as I am reading them at the moment.

I've also got some standalones I could do. Like the Birds in our Garden? and I think, Tony, I still owe you summeries of the Famous Five annuals.
"You're so sharp you'll cut yourself one day!" Hunchy said going to the door
"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.

Are we focussing on series at the moment, or can we do stand-alones too?

If so I volunteer for

The Family at Red Roofs
Hollow Tree House
The Put-Em-Rights
House-at-the-Corner
Those Dreadful Children

I could also do the two Six Cousins books as I don't think they've been mentioned?
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

It's great to see so many people wanting to write blurbs! :D

Here's the new list:

Courtenay - Adventure series and Galliano's Circus series
Julie - Find-Outers series, Secret Seven series, The Boy Next Door and The Treasure Hunters.
Poppy - Famous Five series
Walter - Secret series
Robert - Barney series, Caravan Family series and Faraway Tree series

Stef - St. Clare's series and Birds of Our Gardens.
Fiona - Six Cousins books, The Family at Red-Roofs, Hollow Tree House, The Put-Em-Rights, House-at-the-Corner and Those Dreadful Children.

Let me know if I've accidentally missed anyone or anything out!

The charge of the Blurb Brigade! I have just added 21 blurbs, Find-Outers, Faraway Tree and Galliano. Copied and pasted but not proofed, so the writers might like to check for errors!! :D

Thanks for your work on this when you're already busy with other things. I've checked the ones I submitted and they look fine.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

The blurbs are a great useful addition, as Anita has said. It's been great to read them so far.

You must be working your socks off, Tony, to get all these done. :)
