I've just read the last 2 chapters.... I'm really enjoying it very much. There really are some compensations for time zipping by at an alarming rate as one gets older. It won't seem very long before next Monday comes.

It really is hard to believe that a week used to feel as if it had ten days, but now it feels more like two!

Well, I'm reading it as well, and I nearly can't wait for next Monday to see how this goes on. All 4 children will have a shock in the next chapter. I really want to know what happens in the next chapter and how the girls deal with it.

Sometimes i wish I could click the stop button in order to make more time.

Thanks Rob, I'm looking forward to see how the girls deal with what is coming their way. I'm also curious if the girls will meet (or at least see) the gypsys and how this goes on. That is really a different twist, I thought something would happen during the day that comes not during the night.

I'm presuming that neither Tony or Anita noticed it when they were proof reading...

Are you meaning stalagmites hanging down from the ceiling, Rob. As they are the ones on the ground. Stalagtites are the ones that hang from the ceiling. Or is it you wrote 'smelled', where I would have put 'smelt'.

Yes Julie, I was going to say that it really is time Rob knew the difference between stalagmites and stalagtites! Until I reached that point Rob, I thought perhaps your comment referred to George giving Anne a hug when Timmy was lying between them. Poor squashed Timmy, I thought!

Yes - stalagmites is the answer! I even remember having this conversation with my dad when writing it, and telling him that stalactites grew down from the ceiling and stalagmites grew up - which he also knew - so I'm not sure how I made the mistake!

I think 'smelled and smelt' are both okay as past tenses of 'smell'. Not sure which one Enid used most.
