Thank you both! :-)

I wish Jo hadn't been domesticated by Enid, or else she would definitely have featured in this one. However, hopefully you will like the new character almost as much! :-D

Maybe it's Tassie come down from Scotland or Aily from Wales? Great work so far, Rob. You're capturing Enid's style very well, I think.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Thank you.

Shortly, things will 'start to happen' as Enid often says! ;-)

You sure it's not the literary equivalent of 21 hours' worth of real-time narrowboat prow cam?

The author might not like to say it, but I can! There is plenty of excitement in store for the Famous Five and you can join 'em!

Thank you Tony! :-) I'm not very good at promoting my writing - I'm always a bit self-deprecating. :D

Am I the only person that makes reading the latest chapter of the serial the first job of a Monday?

Another enjoyable chapter, Rob. I also re-read Julie's SS tale recently and I think I actually enjoyed it more the second time around!

Thanks both :D

Yes, I read the new chapter each Monday before doing much else.. it really reminds me of the anticipation of the serials in Sunny Stories which I felt as a child.

Thanks, all! Its good to know some people are reading it, lol!! :D

Pete - at least Markle Farm seems to be organic!...even if it is a long way off!!!

Daisy - it really brought it home to me, looking in an EB magazine yesterday at a chapter of Five Go To Billeock Hill how long a fortnight must have seemed between chapters! A bit like Nick said about reading Julies serial again and it being better the second time around, I'm sure that's how Enid's readers felt when they finally got to buy the serialised story in book form! :-D

My cryptic post from nine days ago becomes a bit more relevant today as Em gets named for the first time, so you really can 'join Em'!

Firstly, thanks, Nick. Praise indeed.

Yes, I always read the continuation novel first thing on a Monday morning.

Enjoying the serial so far, but I keep thinking of Fall into Adventure, with Em being like Jo and your wood Robert, like Raven's wood. I'm even thinking ahead now of how things are going to pan out. I hope it pans out completely different from what my mind is telling me.

This isn't a criticism Rob, by way, this is my writers mind going off on a tangent of it's own.

Thanks Julie. :-D I often base my stories on ideas from various Blyton books - I think Enid did the same! Jo and Em are definitely interchangeable because I meant for Jo to be in this adventure but as I said before, she was too domesticated by this time and I wanted someone wilder! I didn't even realise the likeness between my wood and Raven's wood - well spotted - although my wood doesn't feature prominently. :-) I'm pretty sure things will pan out a little differently to how you imagine! :-D

Thanks for the feedback, everyone - always appreciated. 8)

I think you will find it does, Julie! :D Having read the whole book I saw no similarity between it and 'Fall Into Adventure' at all, or any other Fives' book for that matter. Unless I have read it wrongly (and I am sure the author will correct me if I have!), I think Em is much younger than Jo and indeed the 'Five', as I thought she was aged about 7.
