A Dog's Life

This, copied from the Message Board caused me to titter!
Barney says: I'm very sorry Mark, but we cannot offer valuations. This was produced about ten years ago along with a map of Toyland and if I remember rightly I had to sign a certificate of authenticity for it. You need to get advice from an auction house if you want to know what it is currently worth.
Barney signing a certificate of authenticity, eh? What a clever little dog you are, old thing!

I grinned at that too. I suppose the certificate has a paw-print on it!

Nonsense, Barney learned to write in order to produce his forthcoming autobiography
Life with a mad Blyton collector.

When is it on the bookshelves, Barney

If it costs a juicy bone, it might be a bit difficult to send it over the post!

Hey guys, I seem to be getting a fan club here! Don't think I like the title for my autobiography though - I am sure I can come up with something more snappy than that.
And forget the bones for payment, I am quite happy with sausages!

I never knew that this internet dog comic is based on a true story!
My word, anybody else here in the forum is a dog I wonder?
Edit: Ah, yes, there's also Timmy-the-dog
Dogs are very clever nowadays I must say!

Great
paw-trait, Snubby.
As there just may
be a tiny possibility for your cartoon to be (?wilfully?) misinterpreted by card-carrying members of the
Women's Liberation Front, I suggest that you are careful going through doorways where a knife-wielding feminist might be lurking on the other side. And, no, if you're a woman that likely
wouldn't excuse you.

Sorry, Aurélien, I am completely clueless about any misinterpretation the cartoon might cause..
Struggling with my poor English, I guess it has something to do with this: (please correct me if I get it wrong
)
Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary wrote:dog (PERSON) Show phonetics

OFFENSIVE an unattractive woman
is it???
If that's the case, then I'm a dog myself!!

Apologies, Snubby. It is terribly easy to forget that English is a second (or third, fourth, etc) language to a number of people posting here. Hence
my light-hearted remarks about the cartoon you posted.
As for personal appearance, even in my younger and less wrinkled years
my short, heavily freckled body would never have been pictured on a page in a pin-up calendar!

You need not apologize, Aurélien.. In fact, this will just add to my long list of words learned from this forum!
I could guess a bit that your remark was light-hearted from "
.. a knife-wielding feminist might be lurking on the other side!!"
since you CAN'T be serious about this!
(looking behind my back for any Women's Liberation Front member who might be lurking around with a knife at this time)

Well done, Snubby. Guess
this site gives us
all learning experiences. I've got a few dog cartoons myself, though not scanned in, and even more cat cartoons.
