Next Monday does indeed see the last chapter of your Secret Seven serial, Julie, so I thought I would offer a little teaser of what will be starting the week after. No details yet, just an illustration which the author has kindly provided!

And a superb serial it has turned into, Julie. :D

I'm looking forward to the new serial, Tony. :D

Thanks, Eddie.

I too am looking forward to reading something new, and know what the next title is, but that's a secret!

Difficult to read with a reduced-sized picture, but I have the original artwork and the barge is called 'Adventure Bound'!

The Canal Boat of Adventure?? :D

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

 Good idea Courtenay..... I can't speculate as I do already know, but we could have a fun game for the next week or so trying to guess!

Will the new serials feature illustrations from now on?

I've really enjoyed Julie's Secret Seven serial, it's as good as the originals. I love stories with a snowy winter setting. The illustration for the new one is intriguing, is it Rob's work? "Five on a Horseboat Holiday" perhaps?

Five Go Off On a Barge? I hope so, I seem to recall there being a thread many years ago about adventures and stories you wished Enid had written and a canal/barge story was top of my list! I've really enjoyed your serial Julie, you have captured the spirit and feel of the original stories and I was a tad disappointed to be getting to the end of it. Tony's little tease has given me something to look forward too.

So pleased you enjoyed it Nick, and it's nice to hear you feel I captured the feel of Enid's originals. That's something I'm always keen to try and keep to.

Several of you are very close and it is not really supposed to be a big secret, I just didn't want to jump the gun as Julie still has one chapter to go. The new serial will be Five Go Off on a Narrowboat by Robert Houghton, and as some had already guessed, Rob provided that artwork. In answer to another query, no, there are no other illustrations for it.
