£100 ! lol! A tad expensive!

I'm glad I've got them all - and mine have the coloured covers too! :D

I thought it was quite good value, personally. Makes them just over a tad at £2.25 each.

A good buy for anyone who hasn't got numbers 1 - 44. :)

Yes - but as people have said -to misquote - 'its okay to find £2.50 but not so easy to find a spare £100' ! ;-)

It doesn't mean that they are not good value, Rob.

If you've not got £100 then you couldn't buy them, fair comment, but that doesn't mean that the whole lot for 44 isn't good value for money! Even working it out with the added postage, the Journals still work out at just over £2.50 each. Excellent value for money for someone who wants them. :)

At our current UK rate of 3 for £10, the first 44 Journals would cost a member £150 if he had bought them as they came out. £99 doesn't seem to be a bad price bearing that in mind. Not that I have a spare ton to shell out!

I always say - anything is a bargain if you really need it.

I personally would prefer the full colour covers, as I believe they were printed on better card (as they are now) whereas the black and white versions are thinner card. I agree they're not a bad price if someone is desperate to have the first 44 issues. I can't really judge, as I already have them all! ;-)

Mind you, I guess these ones for sale might be considered 'first editions' whereas my early ones are only reprints. ;-)

Shhh... don't mention first editions, or they'll start selling them for £100 each.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

I think it's a bargain provided the bid value does not go beyond £150.00. :D

Mind you, I don't think I've ever actually bid over £100 for anything on eBay. :-D

I have been into my files and worked out who the seller is! He was with us from our first issue and then suddenly stopped after 44 Journals. Sadly quite a few have gone this way after a long innings so perhaps more large collections will appear on eBay! I am pleased that he didn't throw them away when he stopped subscribing.

I think around £100 for these is good value. It can be very hard to get the early editions these days.
